What about Giverny ?
Located in Giverny, France, the house of Monet is a charming retreat that once served as the residence of the renowned Impressionist painter, Claude Monet.
Surrounding the house are meticulously maintained gardens that served as the inspiration for many of Monet's masterpieces. These gardens, with their vibrant flower beds, tranquil ponds, and iconic Japanese bridge, continue to attract visitors from around the world seeking to immerse themselves in the beauty that inspired one of history's greatest artists.
The main palace was in bygone days the very heart of French royal power and the seat of the French monarch. Nowadays, it serves as a national museum devoted to French history.
The tour of Giverny and Monet’s gardens was great! Steve was very informative, told great stories, and made us laugh. Loved it!!
Our guide was excellent. Clear directions, wonderful background information (I felt like she actually knew Claude Monet!!).
The bus ride was nice, as well. Giverny is inspirational and awe inspiring. One hour to get there, two hours to visit, one hour home. Just enough time.
